Coast is a BBC documentary that covers subjects relating to both nature’s impact and the social historical aspect of Britain’s coastline. It first aired in 2005.

The 2013 series of Coast has also been broadcast in High Definition.c038tv Each episode has a theme featuring stories from every part of the British Isles instead of concentrating on one particular part of Britain per episode. Nicholas Crane (who has also presented Great British Journeys and Town) is a geographer, explorer and writer who is presenter of episodes such as “Invaders of the Isles” where the history of Guernsey is revealed.

In episode “Life Beyond the Edge” comedian Ken Dodd also joins Ian McMillan to take a light hearted look at Blackpool’s entertainers.
